30,000 Kilohertz of Sound: Improvised Podcast
I’ve started listening to this Improv Podcast (thanks Shawn!)
It’s notoriously difficult for improv to retain it’s spark once it’s been recorded*. But here, the improvisers take their time and turn the restrictions of the format to their advantage. An enjoyable listen.
*I recently heard someone describe an uninspiring improv scene as “like an improv video on youtube”.

Ha, I’ve definitely seen scenes that fit the description.
I’ve actually been thinking about why recorded improv doesn’t work very well. I have not finished thinking about it yet though.

Cheers Derek,
This is the show that came on DVD with Art by Committee isn’t it?
I’ve had few chances to see Harolds, so this was a real treat.

Yes, this is the very same. I put it on YouTube because there aren’t many Harolds on there. Especially none as well done as this. Their games are so organic and they have lots of fun up there. The Reckoning is a high quality team.

Yes, it especially rare to see improv online that is that well recorded as well (I can actually hear all the dialogue!)

Also, please check out my improvised podcast featuring some of Chicago’s best improvisers. It’s call This American Novelist. http://thisamericannovelist.podbean.com

Cheers Derek,
Just listened to the latest podcast. It’s a great way to adapt improv to the podcast format.
It reminds me somewhat of ‘Man to Man with Dean Learner’
